Dress for Success Seattle (DFSS) is a YWCA-managed program that provides low-income women who are actively looking for a job with interview-appropriate clothing.
Their goal is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools they need thrive in work and in life.
iWiB will help sort through the incoming clothing, accessories, and toiletries donations.
Learn more at: http://www.ywcaworks.org/dfss
Due to limited space, iWiB will only be able to take a maximum of 10 volunteers. The volunteers will be chosen based on involvement in iWiB, responses, etc.
All volunteer applicants must turn in their Informed Consent and Release of Liability form along with the regular IHS field trip form to Grace Chen or Mr. Shanafelt by Wednesday, March 23rd. These forms can be found on the Facebook, Website, or with Grace Chen/Mr. Shanafelt. Both forms must be completed and turned in to even be considered for a volunteer spot.
Transportation: Because our group will only be 10 maximum, the group is a bit smaller than usual and therefore we are not getting a bus. Instead, transportation will be up to the student and their parents to figure out. We will be arranging some carpools though so please let us know on the google form application if you are a licensed driver willing to drive students, have a parent willing to drive, need a ride, etc.
Note: This field trip will also be valid for 2 hours of community service hours. I (Grace Chen) or Mr. Shanafelt can sign you off on that.
